Charlotte Douglas (CLT) Airport is located about seven miles west of downtown Charlotte, North Carolina. It can be accessed via the Andrew Jackson Highway, West Boulevard or Billy Graham Parkway. Flights to Buffalo Niagara International (BUF) generally require one stop, but nonstop flight duration is about two hours. You can reach Buffalo, New York by driving west on NY-33, or south on I-90 to I-190. The Metro Bus is also available at the airport, as are taxi and shuttle services.
Many travelers come to Buffalo for easy access to Niagara Falls, which is about 20 miles northwest of the city. Other popular attractions in Buffalo include the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, the Buffalo Zoo, Darwin D. Martin House, Coca-Cola Field, Burchfield Penney Art Center, First Niagara Center, the Buffalo Museum of Science, Kleinhans Music Hall and Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park. You also won't want to miss the Electric Tower, McKinley Monument, Lafayette Square or Woodlawn Beach State Park.
With its maritime climate, Buffalo is quite humid with short transitional seasons. Winters are snowy and cold from December to March, so pack layers if you plan to visit the city during these months. Summers see lots of sunshine with cool breezes off Lake Erie. Many travelers enjoy staying downtown in one of the modern high-rise accommodations, but there are hotels here to suit any taste and budget.
