About Ryman Auditorium

Home of the Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman Auditorium is one of the most iconic venues in Nashville. The venue opened in 1892 as the Union Gospel Tabernacle and has had many famous performances since then. Known as The Carnegie Hall of the South, the venue became so famous over the years that it was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 2001.

Ryman Auditorium History

The local country music program known as the Grand Ole Opry debuted at the Ryman in 1952. After years of iconic performances from the biggest country music stars, the Orpy left the venue in 1974. Some of the notable events and performances were from Dolly Parton, Neil Young, Hank Williams, Ringo Starr, Wu-Tang Clan and many more. In late 2020, the Ryman expanded the already lowered capacity due to COVID-19 guidelines that need to be followed. The same year, the venue produced Live at the Ryman shows to live stream footage online to accommodate for the low audience. The historical venue has changed a lot throughout the years but has not lost their reputation of being a venue iconic enough to become a national landmark. Garth Brooks at the Ryman 2021

Dubbed, “A Historic Night, Just Garth, The Ryman and You,” the Ryman Auditorium hosted the legendary country artist in an intimate setting. Cheap Garth Brooks tickets at the Ryman were hard to come by with the venue's limited capacity. When it didn't look like Garth was going to play Nashville in 2021, this event changed everything!
