Aiming for Titles Beyond the Conference

The University of Iowa's program got off to a less than auspicious start in 1974, ending their inaugural season with a losing record. They pressed on, reaching the Elite Eight the following year and clinching the regular season conference championship. Iowa continued to collect titles in the Big Ten, and in 1993 they reached a new post-season peak when they made it to the Final Four. The Hawkeyes remained dominate throughout the 1990s, claiming the conference tournament championship for the first time in 1998. For some time after, there was a lull in success. However, recent years have seen an upswing for the Hawkeyes, including a 2008 conference championship title and a 2015 push to the Sweet Sixteen.
