The rise of a conference threat

Following Metcalf's controversial firing, the Texas A&M team struggled for several years. However, in the early 2000s the program reignited a fire. They pushed their way into the NCAA Tournament again and again, and in 2016 they became the Southeastern Conference champions. Dozens of former Aggies have gone on to make their mark in the NBA, including DeAndre Jordan, Khris Middleton, and Acie Law.
