About Straight No Chaser
What started as an extracurricular activity at Indiana University blossomed into a genuine career opportunity. Started by nine talented and ambitious young men, Straight No Chaser became one of the vanguards for the popular a cappella movement. Marvelous to see live, cheap Straight No Chaser tickets are a hot item. Get yours today and be astounded by this group's vocal gymnastics!
From a College Campus to the Recording Studio
Started in 1996, Straight No Chaser enjoyed moderate success as a university a cappella group. Their first big performance as a group was for their schools 36-hour Dance Marathon. They instantly stole the attention of everyone in the audience, even with their performance being at 7 am on a Sunday. Word of the group’s talent spread, and they began performing for a variety of campus events and at sorority functions. From there they soon began headlining concerts and touring nationally.
They performed at Wrigley Field, Navy Pier, and even Carnegie Hall. Straight No Chaser had such a strong legacy at Indiana University that it became a permanent group, even after the original members graduated. It wasn't until 2008 that the group found itself suddenly an Internet sensation.
Straight No Chaser's 1998 performance of "The 12 Days of Christmas," a deft and humorous medley of holiday songs, caught worldwide attention. The original video now has over 19 million views. Straight No Chaser was contacted by Atlantic Records, and in 2008 their debut album, Holiday Spirits, was released. The group has continued to release studio albums, including special guest vocalists like Elton John, Phil Collins, Jason Mraz, Dolly Parton, and Sara Bareilles.
A key to their performances is a healthy dose of self-deprecating humor. The group recognized that if they had fun on stage, then in turn the audience would be having fun watching them as well! Today, some of the original members still represent the group as they continue to share their passion for music and stage performance with their audiences.
The Open Bar Tour
In November of 2019 Straight No Chaser went on a North American tour. Their tour continued through December of 2019 and into the New Year all the way through April of 2020. Along the way, they made multiple stops in Texas and Florida, then ventured on to Atlanta GA, Nashville TN, St. Louis MO, Cincinnati OH, and several other cities continuously through the winter months. In March, the group visited multiple spots in California including Fresno, Modesto, San Luis Obispo, and Palm Desert. In April they performed in Salem VA, New Brunswick NJ, Albany NY, Newport News VA, Verona NY, Worcester MA, and finally Toledo OH.
With delightful arrangements and jaw-dropping vocals, it's no wonder that Straight No Chaser has impressed listeners. Snag your cheap Straight No Chaser tickets today for a feel-good concert with these gifted vocalists.
