Conference Champions, National Title Winners
The University of South Carolina's basketball history stretches back to the 1920s, though the program was officially established more than fifty years later. It took some time for the Gamecocks to find their feet, but by the mid-1980s they were raking in conference championships and making post-season appearances. In the 1990s and early 2000s, the program lost some of its luster, but that was soon to turn around. Dawn Staley took the helm in 2008, leading the team to unprecedented success. After joining the Southeastern Conference, the Gamecocks quickly carved out their territory, collecting both regular season and tournament championships. Seeded No. 1 in the 2015 NCAA Tournament, the Gamecocks finally reached the Final Four. They fell to Notre Dame by a single point, a crushing defeat. However, South Carolina would have its revenge two years later, when the Gamecocks claimed the championship title by soundly defeating Mississippi State 67-55.
Shining with success, the Gamecocks are the team-to-beat in the SEC. Support them in their fight to remain at the top by picking up your cheap South Carolina Gamecocks women's basketball tickets today!
