About Georgia Bulldogs
With a history stretching back over 125 years, the University of Georgia Bulldogs football team has played over 1200 total games and maintained a winning record.
From the humble beginnings of their first two-game season (1-1), the Bulldogs have won a total of six national championships and 14 conference championships under the direction of legendary coaches like Vince Dooley, who coached the team from 1964 to 1988 and won them a national championship in 1980 and six SEC conference championships during his tenure.
The team has produced two Heisman Trophy winners, Frank Sinkwich in 1942 and Herschel Walker in 1982. The Heisman trophy is an annual award granted to the consensus best player in the NCAA.
The Bulldogs call home the Sanford Stadium on campus in Athens, Georgia.
In terms of rivalries, the Bulldogs do battle with three primary southern rivals- Auburn University, Florida and Georgia Tech.
