About Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars was born as Peter Gene Hernandez on October 8, 1985 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Growing up as one of six children, all of which were musically gifted, it was not long before they formed a family band. Known as The Love Notes, they performed together from the time Mars was five years old until his parents split when he was twelve years old. After graduating high school in 2003 he moved out to Los Angeles to pursue his career in music. This was also when he adopted his childhood nickname Bruno as his stage name, adding Mars to the end as he was often described as “out of this world”. Mars signed on with Motown Records in 2004, although that deal was short lived as they dropped him after less than a year. After years of collaborating with other big-name artists including B.o.B and CeeLo Green, Bruno Mars released his debut studio album Doo-Wops & Hooligans with the leading single “Just the Way You Are” reaching the number one song on the charts around the world. From that moment on Bruno Mars has been in the limelight with his catchy tunes, earning him several awards and accolades. He is recognized as one of the best-selling artists of all time and he is also listed as one of the most influential people in the world.
