Orca Cabin: A Secluded Wilderness Retreat with Ocean Views
Nestled on over an acre of private, forested land, Orca Cabin offers the perfect getaway, blending tranquility with breathtaking views. This charming 400 sq. ft. log cabin is custom designed to capture the best vistas of the inlet and harbor, making it a peaceful oasis surrounded by nature.
Layout:
Queen bedroom features a comfortable queen bed and storage space for your clothing and personal items.
Kitchen: is equipped with the basic essentials needed to prepare simple meals and enjoy your stay and a small dining table for up to 4 guest.
LOFT SPACE: Please note: The loft area includes two twin beds and is accessed by a steep ladder. Due to the ladder access, the loft may not be suitable for young children or guests with mobility concerns. The loft also features higher windows without coverings, which allows for beautiful natural light but means the space can become bright in the morning. Please consider this setup carefully to ensure it is a good fit for your group before booking.
Patio: Enjoy the covered patio area, equipped with a BBQ (propane included) for grilling and outdoor meals throughout the year. There is also seating where you can relax and take in the surrounding views. Between the two cabins, you’ll find a shared picnic table area, perfect for enjoying outdoor meals and summer days together.
Orca Cabin is one of four cabins on the property, offering a quiet, forested setting while still being just a short walk to town. You’ll be staying on the last property before 30 acres of island forest, which opens toward the rugged coastline and Barkley Sound. Wildlife is abundant here — guests often spot eagles daily, along with sea lions, otters, and seals, and occasionally killer whales, humpback whales, or gray whales. Keep an eye out for our resident deer family that frequently grazes near the cabins.
You’re also within walking distance of kayak tours, fishing charters, whale & wildlife tours, and the world-renowned Wild Pacific Trail.
Come experience the magic of Orca Cabin — your cozy home base for exploring the wild West Coast.
Important Notes before booking:
Guest Limit: Due to the cabin’s compact 400 sq ft layout, it’s ideal for up to 3 adults, or a small family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children).
To access the loft area you will need to climb a steep ladder, so it is not ideal for young children or those with mobility issues.
EV Charging: There is a Level 2 Tesla charging station on-site, shared among four cabins.
Laundry: Please note the cabin does not have a washer and dryer. However, a laundromat is conveniently located nearby.
Waterfront Access: While the cabin itself is not directly on the waterfront, there is a small waterfront area just a few steps away where you can enjoy views of wildlife and passing boats. It’s located to the left of the main house.
Group Bookings: For larger groups, Eagle Cabin is situated on an acre of land along with three other cabins—Sitka, Nootka, and Orca—and the main house where the owners reside. Together, the cabins can accommodate up to 16 guests. If you’re interested in booking all the cabins for your group, please contact Tofino Vacation Rentals directly.
Dogs: We allow 1 dog. Dogs must be in a crate while left alone at the property. Sorry, no cats allowed!
