This is an essentially basic motel that looks quite dated, but OK considering prices in the area in the summer. The rooms were clean but the refrigerator was very noisy. The location in Ucluelet was fine and there were some good nearby restaurants.

The hotel was easily accessible, directions were clear. The room was not cleaned daily because they don’t have enough staff. We requested extra towels and bar soaps and they provided us with no issues. The hotel was of reasonable price.

It’s not easy to find an affordable place to stay in the Ucluelet/Tofino area, so we opted for the West Island Resort. The location is right in the harbour and within walking distance to the main road in town, so that was a plus. However, I would probably not choose to stay there again because the property is rundown (broken window shades, old furniture, uncomfortable double bed, etc) and the bathroom had not been cleaned thoroughly when we arrived. In retrospect, I wish we had paid a bit more money to stay somewhere else.

Loved our stay at this place! Great location, beds were comfy, and the kitchenette came in handy. There was no ac which is fine however, we noticed there were no screens on any of the units’ windows, therefore we couldn’t leave the windows open much was flies were coming in. Not sure if they’re in the process of replacing them but we were fortunate that the windows were at her house as cool, I don’t think it would have been manageable if the temps were high! Otherwise a lovely place!

Our room had black mold in the bathroom, two places where the door had been kicked and in general disrepair. One of the towels had stains. Opening the window was the only way to let in air but there were no screens on the windows. The inly thing thar was ok was that the beds themselves were clean.

Overpriced. The property is TOO old. There is no aircon, only window but too scary to open. The kitchen sink stinks. We booked 2 nights but we left after the first night without cancellation fee as we cannot stay for another night with this terrible hotel.

We chose this for laundry and kitchenette. Check in was great as was laundry. First impressions of room were poor as the kitchen was in need of door and drawer repairs. Missing knobs, doors that didnt close, damaged surface. But in fact the appliances worked well, stove, oven, newish fridge freezer and kettle. Its a nice quiet location. All taps did drip.

Lots of construction around the motel. Heavy equipment right outside our window woke us at 7am each morning. Never did see any staff or other guests. Room was clean and comfortable except kitchen tap dripped and lack of electrical plugs was an issue.
