I recently stayed at the Embassy Suites near USF in Tampa, Florida, and overall, it was a decent experience with a few issues worth mentioning.
The room was spacious and comfortable enough, but not spotless — it was clean enough to stay in, though some areas could use more attention. There were heating and dripping water issues from the bathtub, which made the bathroom feel damp at times. Housekeeping was polite but seemed limited — they didn’t have air freshener available when I asked, which would have helped freshen the space.
On the positive side, the breakfast was excellent with a nice variety of hot and cold options, and the staff working the dining area were friendly and attentive. The location is convenient — close to the university, restaurants, and only a short drive from the airport. The evening reception with snacks and drinks was also a great touch.
The biggest drawback for me was still the lack of wired internet or Ethernet ports, which made remote work difficult.
Pros:
• Spacious suite layout
• Great complimentary breakfast and evening reception
• Convenient, safe location
Cons:
• Minor maintenance issues (leaky tub, heating)
• No air freshener available through housekeeping
• No wired internet or Ethernet ports for secure work connections
Overall, it’s a comfortable hotel with friendly staff, but it could be much better with some attention to maintenance and in-room details.
