Host John was informative about local history and art. Lots of antiques and portraits of local forefathers. Plenty to look at inside the preserved 2221 house if you like woodwork. Snacks & coffees eveywhere. Interacting with owners dogs in downstairs area was a plus! Gourmet breakfast. Great weekday one- night restful stay.

Great exept for the big poodles.

It is a historical place. The place is kept very cold, but tolerable. The breakfast is very unique and delicious. A big problem was the two big poodles that were in the dining area when we came out of our room. They came at us and were not made to leave us alone, so it was up to us to keep them off of us. It took quite a while for the manager or owner to take them out. I assume that would be unlawful for dogs to be in a dining area.

I invite no one not to go down because the service is not that great at the front desk. And if you pay for security, they still does not reinverse you. When something comes up and you tell them you cannot make it.
