"Overall very nice, only three significant issues… 1) Road noise on pool and patio is tremendous and distracting. 2) The hotel closes the pool and jacuzzi at dark, which combined with the road noise kind of makes those facilities of limited value. 3) The hotel has nice fire pits, but the big lights over pits kind of spoil the mood. In summary, the property made a big investment in the pool area, and although there is probably little they can do about the road noise, with some tweeting of policies and lighting the back patio & pool area could be a reason to visit the hotel, which is currently not the case. "

"Stayed for a hiking weekend base camp. It was basic, but exactly what we needed for an inexpensive place to sleep between long days on the trail. The property is older, but clean and well-kept. Staff were friendly, and the hotel was quiet both nights. We slept well, which is really what matters on a trip like this. Breakfast was simple: waffles, cereal, toast, muffins, apples, coffee, and juice. No real protein options, but it was enough to get us started before heading out. If you’re looking for a no-frills, affordable place to stay for hiking around Walhalla/Seneca, this is a solid option."

"We're 72 year old outdoor lovers and stayed for 17 days in March 2026. Spent nearly every day exploring the trails in the many beautiful State Parks and Sumter Forest nearby and paddling our kayaks on both Lake Keowee and surrounding waters. It was nice to return home to the peaceful surroundings after a day on the trail or water and relax in the hot tub on the deck overlooking the lake. If you're into paddling, at the back of the first finger west of the one the house is on is a quiet and undeveloped 1.5 mile flatwater river that was a relief from the overdeveloped shorelines along the lake. There's also in March 2026 some housebuilding near this house that might prove noisy at times, including the lot next door. "
