"I really enjoyed this place. If, like me, you just want a quiet vacay, then this is your spot (two hour drive from the KOA airport, though, so be prepared. And buy groceries! You'll be sorry if you don't)!
Large living space. Ample kitchen space with all the right utensils. Grounds well-kept. Friendly staff.
The indoor furniture is super tacky, by the way. Imagine visiting your retired auntie who likes pink fuzzy slippers and lives in a sweet, old condo in Florida or Palm Springs. Her fluffy white dog is named - you guessed it! - "sweetie pie gorgeous." That auntie. Where was I? Oh - furniture. Terrible floral design for the couch and chair - kind of back porch-y. But guess what? The furniture was perfect! No, not Kimpton perfect, but auntie perfect. Favorite auntie perfect. Plus, the view from my balcony was to die for! That wide expanse of ocean! Give me back porch furniture any day!
My only gripe: check-in between 4-5 pm, which is mildly ridiculous. Plus, if you show up after that time, you have to call to get the code to the lock-box which houses your key. Doesn't sound like a big deal until you have to wait for a while for someone to answer the call. That's after a 2 hour drive.
Kinda grating, Colony at Sea Mountain peeps. Kinda grating.
Here's a thought: send a text to us the day of travel: are you coming? Y or N. If we text back Y, then text the darn code!
Let not that brief rant keep you from booking this place."
