Nice rustic place. We normally stay in 4 and 5 * hotels and this was not that but it was a cool little spot for what the town is. It’s remote with not a lot of choices. The room was clean and if we can’t get a room in the park again when we’re there next, we will try to stay here again.

We weren't able to check in during the listed check-in times, but Tasha was able to accommodate us. After discovering all the restaurants in town were shut down before our arrival, it was a relief to find a couple snacks and fruits in a bowl waiting for us on arrival. The place was very clean and comfortable. The obly opportunity for improvement would bebetter signage feom the road.

The lady at check-in at the Tru-Value was very helpful. The location is perfect for exploring Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Aside from the restaurants at the Volcano House in the park, there are good nearby food options in the village. The check-in staff were friendly and helpful. The room (a suite, actually) was clean and comfortable, with TV and wi-fi, in woodsy garden surroundings that featured a family of pheasants. The shower stall was tiny, which could be an issue for very large guests.
