We didn’t eat breakfast. But, our room definitely needed some repairs and refreshing. The window shade and lampshade were torn, some tiles were missing around the baseboard in the bathroom, the door needed repainting, we could hear the people next door and across the hall, and it smelled funny.

The dinner was good and economical. I had the Flat break. The dinner atmosphere was very nice. The staff was friendly and fast. I liked the lighting at the table and the pool atmosphere. The Breakfast was nice. The room was clean and comfortable.

Was very impressed with this hotel considering the price and seeing the outside. The outside doesn't seem lavish but when you walk inside, the restaurant/bar to the right, the atrium design, the lobby/sitting area with comfy chairs and a fireplace was nice. The service we received from a young lady who's name I never got (Thursday Oct. 9th at about 6 pm) was top notch, very informative and confident. The room was great as it was very clean and had a nice mountain view. Location is the best you can get since Walmart, Wendy's, Bank of America and many other stores/mall/food stops were in walking distance or quick to get to for anything you may have forgotten. The bar was great with very well poured drinks, the breakfast was the best you could get, especially at the price you pay for a room. The only issue that we had was their hot tub was not in service and although the pool was "heated", it was still not warm enough for my wife to enjoy. Also, the towel situation is stupid; you can't bring your large shower towels from your room, you have to use the pool towels which are hair towels! You'd need 4 of them to be servicable to dry off/cover up. I'm 6'1" and 195 lbs and couldn't get it around my waist. They should provide large pool towels at the same size as the room bathroom ones. This is not a deal breaker so when we come back, we'll be staying here again and hopefully the hot tub is fixed.

Great Stay!

The location of Academy Hotel is super convenient and surrounded by great restaurants and shopping. It's literally right off the highway but there's no traffic noise which is excellent! The good news (but potentially bad news if you have allergies) is that they're pet friendly. I made the mistake of not requesting a room that did not previously have pets in it and had a bad allergic reaction in the room I took. The rooms are older but super clean and there is no smoke smell (which tends to be the case with older properties). Morning breakfast is outstanding! And the staff was really excellent.
