"I had a horrible experience at the Colony Hotel. After my last night, I woke up with bug bites all over the lower portion of my body. The bites were in the pattern and coloring of bed bug bites. When I checked the bed more closely, I found a dead bug and hair under the mattress. This made me seriously question whether the room had been properly cleaned or inspected before my arrival. The condition of the room was unacceptable, and I notified management immediately upon my discovery. The hotel claims they had the room inspected for bed bugs, but of course they would say that. I texted pictures to a bed bug inspector, who said the bites did look like bed bug bites. When I arrived home after a five-hour flight, I could not enter my home for fear of infesting it and had to either professionally clean all my clothes or keep them in trash bags outside for several days. It was a huge stress, inconvenience, and additional cost. I reported the issue to the hotel, but they refused to offer any acceptable resolution. They offered a free upgrade for my next stay, which felt insulting under the circumstances. After that, they stopped responding to me altogether. The lack of accountability and follow-up made an already unacceptable experience even worse. Guests should be able to expect a clean, sanitary sleeping area and respectful customer service when serious concerns are raised. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I would not recommend this property to anyone."

"Tis property is amazing. We normally stay here for a weekend each year and since the remodel it is even better than it was. Every staff member we can across was amazing the female outdoor bar tender (I didn't get her name) was great very friendly and made drinks perfectly. Every one at the front desk went above and beyond and all the vallet drivers took great care of our car and always had a recommendation for food! The food at the hotel restaurant could use some work and more options. The entire beach staff always went above and beyond to make sure we're were comfortable and had drinks. The rooms were great beds were really comfy showers were nice and big with lots of water pressure."

"Beautiful building/lobby/room. Brand new hotel with high end finishes. Smells great. As others have said, the service has a lot to desire. We arrived Memorial Day weekend, Saturday around 12:00pm. No bellboy was available so we handled our own luggage from the car to the room. We changed and went to the pool around 12:30. There was no one at the pool and there were no towels. We stood around for 20 minutes in the blazing sun, no one came. I went inside, spoke to the front desk, they said they will send someone. 15 minutes later no one came. I went back inside and spoke to the manager. He said someone will be at the pool shortly. 10 minutes later no one came. I went back inside a third time, the manager now said they are working on getting more towels. I asked if we go to the beach would they have lounge chairs and towels? He said absolutely. We went to the beach, no towels, but at least we were able to get lounge chairs and umbrella. We had to wait another 30 minutes for towels and fight with other people to get them as they only brought out 4!!! Pretty crazy, definitely not 5* standards. Once they get the right management, staff and training this can be a really nice resort."
