The room felt somewhat dirty - when we pulled the sheets back, there was a black hair. The gym is poorly lit and dirty (wouldn’t use it because it felt icky). We were there during a blizzard with hardly any guests checked in. When we asked for a late check out due to a train delay, they wanted to charge us $58 for two hours. The hotel was empty. So instead of a bit of empathy for a delayed train, they chose the money grab, even though it was clear that the didn’t need our room for a new guest.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff, from the doormen to the front desk and the cleaning staff, were all lovely and very friendly. I would definitely recommend and stay there again! Also a very convenient location!

I enjoyed my stay at the Ameritania Hotel, and would recommend to others who are looking for a fantastic location close to many noted landmarks, and tourist spots. I was in walking distance of Times Square, Madison Square Garden, endless dining, and good proximity to public transportation. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and my room was clean, comfortable, and cozy. I would book again for a solo trip for sure.
