Great hotel, but we were placed in a double bed instead of a queen bed like we booked. Also were told we were getting a lovely street view, but little did we know that the street view was right across from construction that started at 7 AM and had a blow horn going off every 5 minutes. Still, you cannot beat the quality or location. As a bonus, this hotel has a daily happy hour where you get a free glass of wine per guest. The bartender is absolutely amazing, so make sure you tip!

This hotel is quite small in size compared to many NYC hotels and is all the better for it. The staff at reception, the bar and the lobby porters were very friendly and helpful at all times. Our room was cleaned and fresh every day with bottled water replaced daily also. I would recommend Hotel Ameritania and would absolutely stay there again. Its approx 5/6 mins to Time Square and about 7/8 to Central Park. Great location.

This hotel was in walking distance of Penn Station and close to Central Park, so it met my needs for a convenient location. It was decently clean and the staff was friendly. Free coffee provided in the lobby in the morning was nice.

The bellman lent me an at an important time on Monday around 11:30am, for which I was grateful. The cleaning service was perfect. The hvac system in the room was a little old/loud. The “gym” was not great. Check-in was easy. Overall, a great experience.

Great location. Room size was great, especially by NYC standards. But probably not again. - Room smelled faintly like urine. - Walls were on an angle, floors uneven, and the houndstooth carpeting made for a very dizzying experience. I fell into the wall a couple times trying to navigate around the bed. - Our room was next to the elevator shaft so we heard cranking and pulling and dinging the whole night. - One elevator was down. The elevator we used has a big incline step that nobody saw because there was spilled coffee on the floor where people had stumbled. No sign or warning. - Room and bathroom doors stuck bad because of the coat after coat of paint. - Lobby bathroom was dirty. The door was stuck pretty badly. No paper towels. - You have to use your room key to select your floor in the elevator, but the scanner didn't work and required 2 or 3 attempts. - Shower was nice. Plenty of hot water. Room for 3. - Bathroom overall was very small. No room to move around, and no room for 2 adults. - City taxes weren't prepaid as we thought they were so those were taken out of our deposit. - Fridge worked great but was too small for us to put leftovers in. - "Premium wifi" was far from it. We had 1 bar most of the time, if any at all. We relied more on our cellular data. - No recycling that we could find. Not even by the water cups in the lobby, so those all went in the trash. We did our best to bring our own recycling to the street and found a receptacle.

This is such a great location, just a few blocks to Times Square. We were able to walk to almost everything. The room was modern and clean. The floor space is on the small size, but we expected that. The staff was friendly and helpful.

the interior is very old and tired. have to go buy slippers because the carpet is too dirty. there is heavy constructions (not the hotel's fault) across the street. they are building a new high riser which may take a couple of years. it is extremely noisy starting at 7am or 8am. the room is beyond cleanable. needs a remodel.

Overall, I had a great experience at The Ameritan Hotel! I arrived about 30 minutes before check-in and expected to wait, but the staff was super friendly and already had a room ready for me. The front desk team was professional, helpful, and answered all my questions. The room was very clean—just one small thing: a waste can hadn’t been emptied, but it wasn’t a big deal, and they took care of it quickly. The beds were soft and really comfortable. The only minor downside was the air conditioner, which made a chirping sound (kind of like a grasshopper), but it wasn’t enough to ruin the stay. The location is fantastic—you’re close to everything: Central Park, Times Square, Broadway theaters, and tons of great restaurants. I usually don’t stay in Midtown when I visit the city, but if that’s where you’re headed, I’d definitely recommend The Ameritan Hotel!

A great boutique hotel in the heart of Midtown. Few blocks from Central Park, close to Times Square, Rockefeller , theatres, restaurants. Clean, upgraded hotel with friendly staff and excellent service. Have stayed there again and again.
