The flat was a great size for us and the location was excellent for exploring London. Unfortunately, there were a couple of issues that significantly affected our stay and our ability to sleep.Guests should be aware that the Soho nightlife creates substantial nighttime noise. We experienced noise from the surrounding nightlife as well as trash collection and street sweepers, with activity continuing until around 3 a.m. In our experience, the only consistently quiet hours were roughly between 3 and 7 a.m. This is important information that I wish had been made clearer in the listing, as we would have better understood what to expect when choosing a flat in this location.There was also an ongoing issue with the smoke alarm in the flat across the hall. We contacted the owner, who told us they were aware of the problem and believed it was a technical issue. Unfortunately, the alarm continued to go off intermittently, including during the night. Beyond the disruption to sleep, a repeatedly malfunctioning smoke alarm raises a legitimate safety concern, particularly when the owner is already aware of the issue and it has not been resolved.The flat itself was comfortable, a very good size, and in a fantastic location, but the nighttime noise and unresolved smoke alarm issue are important considerations for future guests.
