The houseboat was absolutely lovely and the space very effectively used. I loved being there at all times of day and night with the beautiful view of Browning Pond. The Papillon was the most beautiful houseboat I saw the whole time I was on the canals, and it was interesting to see the movement of some of the others that are not permanently moored. There were many appealing restaurants in walking distance, bus service very nearby, and it was great fun to sit up on the top deck as I had wonderful weather both days. One warning--getting up and down from there was a slightly challenging and indelicate process for me as a 74-year-old in decent but not great shape. Also, you are on display up there, as in good weather the canal-side walk next to the boat is very popular. A great spot for people-watching over a glass of wine! I had a bit of an internet problem that was never resolved, but I was able to use my phone to access the internet so it wasn't a big deal. (It might be to some.) Maria was a great host and very kindly left me a loaf of wonderful bread with butter, jam and milk supplied. I highly recommend!
