I want to explain the situation once again. I booked a room with a specific view and informed the hotel that I would be arriving late, around 11–12 p.m. They replied that it was okay and thanked me for letting them know — they said they’d make a note on my reservation.
When I arrived, they told me that the room I booked was no longer available and that there was nothing they could do. They gave me a different room, which I didn’t need at all. Before leaving the deposit, I specifically asked the receptionist, “Are you giving me the same room type I booked?” She said yes. I said okay, and I swiped my card to leave the deposit.
Then I went upstairs, and to my disappointment, I realized she had lied to me. I went back down and said, “Do I look like an idiot to you?” She sarcastically replied that there was nothing else she could offer and even laughed about the situation. To make things worse, I was holding my five-month-old baby in my arms.
By that time, it was already 1 a.m., and I had no other options — I was exhausted from traveling all day, and my wife and baby were tired too. I had no choice but to stay for the night.
