"This hotel seemed fairly up to date. Everything felt clean and nice. The staff was friendly and helpful and when I expressed a concern they did the best they could in the circumstances.
My issue was mainly that I booked the hotel specifically for a weekend with my kids so they could swim and I could relax in the hottub. But it turns out the hottub was out of order with zero information on when it MIGHT be fixed. It seems to me that this is something that the hotel should absolutely be letting people know before their stay. Post it on the website, send an email, SOMETHING. It's a pretty common perk for people to look for specifically in their stay...and to have it out of order and the company not even attempt to let me know was very disheartening. The only reason we stayed was because they made arrangements (after I complained repeatedly and directly) for us to go to the hotel next door and use their hot tub and pool. Nice...but we had to walk through the cold outside of the hotel to get back and forth from our room to the other hotel...not very fun when you are wet and it's 35 degrees outside. But I guess we know where I'll be booking my next stay...with the hotel that had the working hot tub."
