This place is so fun! From the moment you arrive til you get to your room, it’s got a vibe! I’ve stayed in many older boutique hotels and this one had a super comfy bed and it was really clean for being older! I even walked the stairs since we were only on the third floor and the stairwell was very clean! I would stay here again!

I stayed at Shoreline Hotel Waikiki, next to a Ross Dress for Less—so I was ready for good deals from the beginning. Target is just three blocks away, so you can pick up sunscreen, snacks, and maybe ponder some deep thoughts before returning home. Imagine entering a hallway that looks like it belongs in a horror movie, with a heavy emphasis on red paint. It’s all red—walls, doors, ceiling—like you’re being gently escorted to the underworld. I was on the 6th floor, and thank the travel gods my room number wasn’t 666. If it had been, I’d have requested a room swap or just slept at Ross. Inside the room, there’s a cool 3D map of Hawaii with a “You Are Here” arrow pointing to one of the islands. It’s like a friendly reminder that you’re not in hell—you’re in paradise, despite the hallway. The front desk and entrance look more like a trendy lounge than a hotel, which is great if you enjoy checking in with style.

Everything is dirty- the cloth lamps, the walls, the carpet everywhere (OMG), the chair in the room, the corners of the room, some of the towels, the vents. The bright colors are beautiful but seem like just a distraction from it being dirty. The shower/tub backs up with water. If you are rooming with anyone, you will for sure be taking a shower in their dirty water! Even the microwave in the lobby literally smells like a garbage can and was filthy. I just can’t understand how things are so VISIBLY dirty and no one is doing a thing about it. This place needs a deep cleaning or renovation. I read the reviews just wasn’t expecting it to be this bad. Onto the good stuff- the front desk staff was so pleasant, the coffee in the morning was great and the snacks in the room upon arrival was needed and a great touch. The pool was very small but clean and well kept. The AC worked perfectly. The hotel is in a perfect area but I still would never book here again.

I used to live in Hawaii 20+ years ago so I know my way around Waikiki. Every year I come back, I try a different hotel. This was my first time at shoreline and I picked this hotel this time due to its location and price. This hotel is smack dab in the middle of Waikiki. I’m a solo traveler and for the price, you really can’t go wrong. I stayed on the 12 floor and the shower had good water pressure. Room was clean and a/c works with a small balcony. No complaints here.
