This place was the best! We had a little kitchenette. We loved the location and the pool. Bonus that they let us borrow mask and flippers and float board for the beach. It's original so not new amenities and to us that was part of the charm. We especially love the little band that played and danced on one of the evenings. So charming.

It is an older hotel that needs to be updated. It had a strange odor and is not well kept. On the positive side the front desk clerk was vey nice and helpful. It was close to the beach also and that was a plus too.

When I first got to the room, I looked for bedbugs or any sign of them. There wasn't any. The room was anything but fancy. The bathroom fixtures were old. Everything about the room was dated. However, the room was clean and everything I needed. I was able to get a good night sleep, a shower, it had a refrigerator, and it was in a very convenient location, and a great price. The cleaning person only came into my room once during my 9-night stay. They do their cleaning after 5 days. But I didn't need much. I was happy with it and I would certainly stay there again. It isn't a 5-star hotel. But that isn't what I needed. All I needed was place to sleep and a place to get clean every day that was in a good location. The staff was all really nice as well. Also, there was a microwave oven in the common area that we could use.

Room did not look like photos that were shown on expedia, microwave was available by front desk and it smelled like fish and not clean. If you needed towel or toilet paper, again at front desk, even thou the housekeeper was on our floor. Trash put outside of door. Hotel is old and outdated. No window but a slide door to a balcony that had no privacy when opened. One positive thing is the location, lots to do and walk to. Staff was pleasant and helpful.

The staff was not very friendly they did not give me the wifi code when i checked in and it was clearly a budget hotel. They also charged me a $100 deposit which I found to be very inconvenient because I was only staying for one night and now I can't access those funds for 5 days I also did not really like the location

Unfortunately checking in was a nightmare. The room we booked was not available until the following day. Having to move and repack and unpack just to get into the correct room with no discount or reimbursement for the error was a poor choice.

It is nice that the Royal Grove Waikik was a women owned hotel back in 1954. I like that it was an old hotel had character, but definitely could be kept cleaner. Easy access to the beach, food, etc. it’s good if you’re sleeping and showering.

Its a hotel, but no cleaning for 3 nights stay, only if you're staying for 5 nights. It's an old rundown hotel, needs upgrade. My room is close to the street & so noisy, I can't even sleep.The floors are carpet & dusty so I have to wear my slippers the whole time. Bathroom sink clogged. Everything is old & dirty. Also, no hot water in the shower this morning. I'm a person who doesn't really complain, but EXPEDIA you have to check it out first before selling! Thank heavens I'm checking out!

Room was extremely small but clean. We booked last min. for after Christmas stay. They must’ve of given our booked room away as it did not look like what’s on website as we had a lil balcony/patio this tiny room had none of that more a janitors room with fiber glass windows facing Kuhio was very thin and can hear everything on the streets all day/night. You had to walk-through the dirty restaurant hallway kitchen to get to elevator/stairs to your room. For $200 a night. Not worth it. We ended up leaving the 3rd day. Location was great though. Less than a block to beach. Wouldn’t stay here again.
