The suite was immaculate, spacious, and included a full refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, microwave and utensils. I was very happy with the cleanliness of the suite, it did NOT smell of smoke, the sheets and towels were fresh and the staff was more than obliging. I would definitely stay at Candlewood Suites in Windsor Locks for any future accommodations in Ct.

First and last time

Unfortunately we stayed here this weekend for a family trip to go to Six Flags and The Big E. The staff, I will say, were friendly when spoken to. However, I rented a suite for my family and the pull out bed from the couch was absolutely terrible and was basically like sleeping on springs and poles, so she ended up in our room the second night (as this is a 1 bedroom suite). The room we were given was handicap accessible. It was extremely outdated and smelled terrible. To add to this, we planned a hotel that had an indoor pool since mg daughter loves that part of family trips and they pool is down until “unknown date.” We have never stayed at this hotel or chain of hotel before and it will absolutely be our last time. I do not recommend after my personal experience for the price. Does not deserve to be in the 8 star range unfortunately

Overall it was a decent room. Right outside my window on the third floor was a huge light so the room never got fully dark. And housekeeping only comes once a week. So if you are there for a week. Not enough. Also we were right off the runway. So planes landing.

My Family and I booked a 1 bedroom suite to accommodate 3 adults. When we arrived we had a single room with a queen bed a rollaway cot that barely fit in the room. When we approached management about the situation we were informed that there was nothing they would do about the situation. We were told our room had been given away earlier in the day by another member of management.

Room number 111 was clean but smelled moldy (water from ac on the rug). Also, the shower curtain rod was barely hung on the wall, thought it was going to fall from just opening and closing it. One good thing was the water pressure in the shower.

Horrible service, rooms are ok

Stayed at this candlewood suites as we had an event to attend in Hartford at 4pm. We arrived at the hotel at 3:15 to drop off or bags, use the bathroom, then drive the 20 minutes to Hartford. Check in was fine until we got to the room. House cleaning was working on the room that looked like someone had been living in it for months. Dirty clothes and trash were strewn about. So we went back to the front desk to ask for a different room and were told that, "we're sold out and we can't even juggle rooms. You'll have to wait." So, we graciously said "OK" and went to a nearby store to pick up a few things. We can't back at 4pm (already late to our event, mind you) and went back to the room to see it was still being worked on. Now we're angry. Beck to the front desk where we basically had to tell the clerk what to do (find a room that hasn't been checked into yet, give us that one, let the next people have the room that wasn't ready yet). After pulling teeth, we got a room finally, dropped our bags and went to our event, an hour late. If we hadn't told the am check what to do, we'd probably still be waiting for a room the next day. They made no effort to accommodate us and I'm actively investigating a refund due to the poor customer service.

It was a fine place to stay for a one-night stopover, or weekend but I wouldn't recommend it for a longer, more comfortable stay. The staff was friendly and the location is close to the airport. It isn’t very far from the highway and that’s convenient when traveling to surrounding cities.
