I recently stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Harrisonburg, VA, and was very disappointed with the overall experience. The staff were friendly and did their best to help, but that’s about the only positive I can mention.
The pool and hot tub were both dirty, with cloudy water and a strong, unpleasant odor coming from the pool area that made it hard to relax. The breakfast was also underwhelming, with a very limited menu and low-quality options that didn’t meet the Marriott standard I expected.
The room itself was overpriced and clearly in need of renovation. There were visible damages to the walls and wallpaper, and the overall appearance felt tired and uninviting. Even the gym was disappointing — very little equipment and not well maintained.
For the price I paid, I expected much better. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again or recommend it until serious updates and cleaning improvements are made.
