Great location right in the middle of a wood forest. Staff was very nice. Confort of the rooms and meals were average for the price we paid, we were a bit disappointed by the overall experience
Incredibly attentive staff and a beautiful location. It feels like a hidden gem, and like you were transported into another world. It was such a stark contrast from Tokyo and was a real breath of fresh air. The food was excellent, the room was incredibly comfortable, and the outdoor hot spring was just delightful. This is also one of the few ryokans that is tattoo friendly, which was a big place for us.
Amazing experience. Staff extremely nice. However the bathroom need a big upgrade ... it clashes with the rest of the room and breaks the momentum a bit. But we definitely loved the experience we had
Loved the rooms and excellent outdoor and indoor onsens. The little paths outdoors make it feel like a private park for me to explore. Its small size makes it feel homie
This is an elegant and family oriented place. Everyone is so professional and attentive. The vibe is kind and relaxed. The food is delicious and the amenities are incredible. This Ryokan is beautiful. I suggest you get the big room with its own Onsen. It’s totally worth it. And if you have tattoos they are totally fine with it. Excellent experience.

The rooms were amazing. The staff was super understanding and attentive. Loved the experience at this place. We wish we stayed longer than a day
Staying here is an extraordinary experience, stepping back in time to a ryokan as it was in the 1950s (and almost as it was in 1920). The hospitality is exceptional, the staff attentive and capable, and the room spacious and evocative of an earlier era. Visitors must realize that this means very little in modern conveniences: some rooms don’t have showers and all the rooms are Japanese style with tatami floors and futon beds (set out during dinner and removed during breakfast). There are many stairs, no elevator, and the outdoor shared baths are quite a walk through the (marvelous) garden. The meals are extravagant but totally Japanese. It is an experience not to be missed, but you need to know what you are getting. (The Imperial family apparently stayed here in 1955, the first time the Emperor had ever stayed outside the royal compound.) There many wonderful indoor and outdoor museums around the area, and several fantastic gardens.
Great place and super quiet, momiji looks incredible, the private bath was great and the food was also great a lot of fish and wagyu

We had the most amazing and elaborate Japanese set dinner and breakfast. Hotel staff were attentive and the garden path was lovely however the property could be better maintained specially given the price charged.
A short walk from the train station. Property was clean and maintained so well! Staff were so helpful and so friendly. Stayed in the Yuri room with the private on
I loved this traditional inn! The service was outstanding and you really felt like you had stepped back in time. The people there take so much pride in ensuring you have a great stay. I loved the peaceful and calm surroundings. Our server in the dining room was amazing.
Lovely place! We’ve been traveling around Japan and wanted to spend one night at a traditional ryokan. This place is amazing—the service is outstanding, and the staff truly go out of their way to provide the best experience possible. Highly recommend if you're looking for a classic ryokan.
