"Staying at The Block was a truly enjoyable experience. Lots of history there and we stayed for four nights. This small hotel was renovated from an old Sheriff's Office and town jail so don't expect a lot of fancy five-star amenities, but it is well taken care of clean, and comfortable. Upon arrival, there was a mix-up in our reservations (my fault) but we were met by Jennifer who helped us correct the mix-up and then continued to make our stay enjoyable for the entire week. She is very personable and an invaluable addition to the Block staff, always there to offer suggestions of things to do, places to go or find places to eat. Thank you, Jennifer for an amazing job. "Breakfast was minimal but did not look horrible, all I had was a yummy yogurt and coffee. The staff were all very friendly and not anything negative to say about them at all. The beds were uncomfortable and creaked and moved when shifting in bed. The bathroom had stray hairs all over the place to the point that neither of us showered due to being uncomfortable. Though I will note I did not complain to staff so they may have made it right, and this I will never know. There was a gentleman in front of us who had gotten the last other double bed room and our room had been booked prior to arrival….so I made an assumption there wouldn’t be an ability of a room change "
