Excellent weather makes Chile travel possible all year round. Chile’s tourist attractions in the South are best visited in the summer (December to March) as the long days provide ample time for exploration, and during the spring (November and December) as well as the fall. March and April travel is also very good for Chile vacations. In the winter, July to September, hordes of skiers are attracted to Chile, so the ski resorts are apt to fill. The Atacama Desert is best avoided during summer and winter due to extreme temperatures, and those interested in attending one of Chile’s festivals should plan for January, February, or September.
