We had a mostly positive stay at Canalta Lodge. The facility was clean, and our room was quiet and comfortable. Housekeeping was respectful of our belongings and consistently did a great job. The staff were friendly, and the nightly s’mores were a fun touch. The location is convenient, and there’s a playground about half a block away—great for families visiting in the summer.
Breakfast was the same every day: dehydrated eggs, sausage links, potatoes, oatmeal, and pancakes from a cool-looking machine. While convenient, the lack of variety got old fast. We also had to go through several sets of silverware each morning to find clean ones, which was frustrating.
We arrived about two hours before check-in and were told our room would be ready in a few minutes. It ended up taking nearly an hour, so we waited in the lounge. Better communication would’ve helped. Also, the bathroom was pretty tight—more shelving or counter space would make it more functional for families.
Overall, Canalta Lodge offers a clean, cozy stay with some great amenities. If they improve breakfast quality, streamline check-in, and add a few practical touches to the rooms, it would be an easy five-star experience.
