I was fascinated by the beautiful and historic structure. It is a shame that Alexandria is in such poor shape. Makes me wonder what the city would have been like in its prime. The hotel was comfortable and very beautiful. The front desk service was not consistent.

Never again!

Room keys were deactivated after one day. On the second day the maid knocked on the door early in the morning even as we had the do not disturb sign on the door and tried to come into the room! No security measures you can walk off the street and take the elevator to the room floors!

A somber reunion stay

The room was very clean, but there was nothing to tell us where to check in and where the elevators were. The view out our window of our room was depressing, torn window curtains in other parts of the building shown. The main area and various party rooms were great, though, and the food was very good.

This is a gorgeous hotel. They even have a house dog/mascot. The only downside was the night receptionist who checked me in. He was oddly, uncharacteristically cold/rude.
