The Clemson Tigers and the LSU Tigers are relatively new to playing each other on the field. The two have never played against each other in the regular season, as they are in differing conferences. Clemson is a part of the Atlantic Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), and LSU are members of the Western Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Both are powerhouses in their own division and have made quite the name for themselves in the world of college football.
A History of Clemson Tigers vs LSU Tigers
Due to the conference structure of the NCAA, the Clemson Tigers and the LSU Tigers have never played a regular season against each other. The first meeting between the two was at the 1959 Sugar Bowl, a game which LSU dominated Clemson. The two wouldn’t play each other again until the 1996 Peach Bowl, with LSU taking home the victory once again. The two played in yet again another Peach Bowl in 2012 where Clemson barely edged out a victory over LSU. Most recently, the Clemson Tigers and LSU Tigers played each other in the College Football Playoff National Championship game, with LSU bringing home yet again another victory.
