"When we vacation, we don’t need a hotel with a lot of amenities since we don’t plan on being there much of the time. This place was perfect. Nice, safe area with restaurants around. Clean room - it could use more towels and soap but that’s not a dealbreaker for us."

To skip the drive, you can take the bus or the TRAX light rail. Flight times are usually three-and-a-half hours to Washington Ronald Reagan National (DCA) Airport. Attractions and Tips

There is real historical significance to the United States housed within the confines of D.C. Many visitors choose to sign up for a tour that will take them to some of the various monuments in the area. If you are going alone, start on the National Mall. The Capitol is located on one side and the Lincoln Memorial and the Reflecting Pool is on the other. Nearby you will also see the World War II Memorial as well as the Washington Monument. The National Gallery of Art is another popular attraction in the area with a collection that takes up two buildings.

Summertime is hot and humid with thunderstorms expected in July; however, this does not prevent a large mass of visitors from coming to the area over their summer breaks. In the winter, things change drastically and you can expect chilly conditions complete with snow. Spring and fall tend to be the most comfortable seasons.
