Reno exhibits a steppe climate in the rain shadow of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Winters are mild and summers are very hot, reaching averages of around 90. Precipitation is light all year round, and the most comfortable times to visit are in late spring and mid-to-late fall. Exercise caution during the summer and drink plenty of fluids.
