Milwaukee is a city with plenty of Midwest charm and modern touches to appreciate. From checking out the history of brewing in Milwaukee at the Pabst Museum, to taking in a baseball game at Miller Park, guests to Beer City will find a number of ways to keep themselves easily amused. Though Milwaukee can be cold in the winter, exploring the beaches of Lake Michigan is a common activity for visitors when the weather gets warm. Boating, swimming and fishing are popular summer activities bound to keep you entertained.
Milwaukee is a fairly easy city to navigate, even if you're a first-time visitor. General Mitchell International Airport (MKE) is located eight miles south of the city proper, and it is recommended to those that are looking to travel into the city from the airport take I-794 north. Interstate 73 and Highway 36 are also main thoroughfares in the Milwaukee metro area. If you want to unwind upon arrival, head east to Grant Park, on the shores of Lake Michigan.
The flight time from LaGuardia Airport (LGA) to Mitchell Airport is just under three hours. Upon arriving, rental cars, taxis and buses are available. The bus stop is located right outside of the US Airways ticketing area, and there are several national rental car companies available on-site.
