Cheap flights from New York (NYC) to Rome (ROM)

Get to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) by train, bus and subway. Check train schedules at Penn Station. New York City traffic can be a concern, so start early. Flight time from NYC to Rome is about nine hours nonstop. In Rome you can take a cab or an Express Train into the city. Make the time to visit St. Peter's Basilica and the Coliseum.

Getting Around

Rome's Metro, or subway, and its Roma Card are reasonably priced. The cards are also used to board city buses. There are taxi ranks in 13 different piazzas around the city, but your hotel can also call a cab for you. The main bus station is at Stazione Termini on Piazza dei Cinquecento where there is an information booth, Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum are worth the trip. The train from the Termini station, the main hub, takes about 30 minutes to get to the FCO airport 16 miles southwest of Rome. There are amenities for food, comfort and navigating the terminal, built in 1961. Flights from Rome connect to just about any major city. Summers are hot and winters mild, while spring and fall are great times to visit Rome. Any time of year is good for savoring the cuisine of Rome.
