Miami International Airport (MIA) is located seven miles west of downtown Miami, Florida. Its access roads can be reached via La Jeune Road (Route 953) or NW 21st Street. Flights to Quito Mariscal Sucr (UIO) are often nonstop, so the average flight duration is about four-and-a-half hours. Quito can be reached via the Ruta Collas, which is about a 40-minute drive. AeroServicos buses run nonstop to Quito and depart from the airport every 30 minutes. Public buses, cabs, and shuttle services are also available.
At 9,350 feet in elevation, the capital of Ecuador is the highest capital city on Earth. It's brimming with natural and architectural beauty, with many points of interest you don't want to miss. Visit Cotopaxi National Park, La Capilla del Hombre, the Pichincha Volcano, Vulqano Park and the Parque El Ejido. Tour the Cathedral of Quito, the Church of the Society of Jesus and the Basilica del Voto Nacional. You'll also want to explore Ilalo, Atacazo and the Pululahua Geobotanical Reserve.
Due to its elevation, Quito remains cool most of the year. It only has two seasons: the summer dry season from June to September and the winter wet season from October through May. Quito offers a nice range of upscale and budget-friendly hotels, making it a great destination.
