A direct flight between Boston and Rome takes about eight hours, which gives you plenty of time to decide how to spend your vacation in the Italian capital city. Before you can take off, however, you'll have to make your way to the Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) by car, taxis, the Blue Line Metro or the Silver Line Bus. Once you depart from Boston, you can start dreaming of the Italian cuisine, Renaissance architecture and world-class museums that await in Rome.

Rome is neatly divided into districts, each of which offers something different for travelers. In Old Rome, step back in time with a visit to the Pantheon and the Piazza Navoni. Although there are two international airports in Rome, most visitors arrive via the Leonardo da Vinci/Fiumicino International Airport (FCO). To get from the airport to the center of Rome takes 35 minutes on the Leonardo Express train service, an hour on the Terravision bus, or 45 minutes by car. If you'll be doing a lot of traveling and sightseeing, a Roma Pass may be a worthwhile investment.
