Baltimore Balt/wash International (BWI) can be reached via I-195, and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway from downtown Baltimore, or via the Paul T. Pitcher Memorial Highway and/or I-97. Flight duration is two hours and 40 minutes nonstop, or over four hours and 15 minutes otherwise. After landing at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY), you can take I-10 east from the airport to New Orleans.
Vastly considered one of the greatest cultural cities in America, New Orleans is home to plenty of artistic attractions, including the French Quarter, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Historic New Orleans Collection, the Ogden Museum of Art, and the Backstreet Cultural Museum. Family attractions and landmarks include the National World War II Museum, Jackson Square, the Aquarium of the Americas, the Louisiana Children's Museum, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park and the Confederate Memorial Hall.
New Orleans' humid subtropical climate means short winters and hot summers, getting as low as 62 degrees in January, and as hot as 91 in July and August. The area gets substantial rainfall year round, so always pack your umbrella. The rainy season is most powerful during the summer, and the city is quite vulnerable to hurricanes during this time. If you're traveling for the annual Mardi Gras festivities, expect temperatures around 60 to 70 degrees.
