When traveling to Mexico City, you'll arrive at Licenciado Benito Juarez International Airport in the eastern part of town. It shouldn't take more than 25 minutes to get to the center of Mexico City in your rental car. The downtown area is a mix of modern buildings and historic architecture, most notably Plaza de la Constitución, a large area with a cathedral and other historic buildings.
The fee to get to the top of Torre Latinoamericana, a downtown skyscraper, is well worth it when you consider the amazing view. Take a drive to Chapultepec Park and Zoo, it’s the perfect place to take the kids out for the day. The will allow you to visit a children's museum, a technology museum, and a zoo with more than 2,000 animals, all in one place. Just southwest of Mexico City, you'll find Six Flags Mexico and La Feria de Chapultepec, another amusement park with plenty of rides.
Your flight from Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) to Licenciado Benito Juarez International Airport (MEX) should take about three hours. Schedule time in your itinerary for going through customs, while entering and exiting the country via the airport, especially if you're leaving with mementos you purchased during your trip.
