UBS Arena is an arena located in Elmont, New York. The arena was opened in November of 2021 and is designed to be a state-of-the-art facility. A History of UBS Arena

Prior to the completion of UBS Arena, the New York Islanders played at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Nassau Coliseum does not have the same history as Madison Square Garden, so the New York Islanders needed a new facility. Given that Nassau Coliseum was also the second smallest venue in the NHL, it was obvious that a new venue was needed. In 2017, a contract was awarded to New York Arena Partners to construct the new facility. In 2019, ground was broken on the arena, but it was delayed by the pandemic. The arena was finished and opened in November of 2021, and it can seat more than 17,000 people for an NHL match. It can also seat more than 18,500 people for a concert. Now, the arena is going to play host to the New York Islanders as well as a number of other major concerts and events.
