Bringing a new beat to hip hop

Born in Los Angeles and raised in Ventura, Kyle Harvey discovered his love of music at an early age. As a teenager he was inspired by Kid Cudi to start recording his own music. By 2010 he was releasing mixtapes, under the monikers KiddKash and K.i.D., though it took several years for him to gain traction. In 2015 he issued Smyle and had the music video for "Keep It Real" hit one million views. By this time, both listeners and the music industry were paying attention. That same year, Rolling Stone dubbed him an artist to watch. Kyle invited Lil Yachty to collaborate, which resulted in the 2016 smash hit "iSpy." With hip hop listeners all worked up, Kyle found himself suddenly in demand. In 2017 he signed a deal with Atlantic Records, and later that year he was included in XXL's Freshman Class. He's collaborated with Kehlani, G-Eazy, Chance the Rapper, Miguel, and Ty Dolla Sign. In 2018 he released his debut album, Light of Mine, which hit No. 16 on the US Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart.
