The kings of 1980s rock

Toto got its start in 1976 when a group of session and backing musicians decided to break out on their own. The band's self-titled debut quickly became a success, with "Hold the Line" as their breakout single. They continued to gain popularity, and in 1982 they released Toto IV, a multi-platinum record that soared to new heights with radio hits like "Africa," "Rosanna," and "I Won't Hold You Back." Toto IV snagged seven Grammy Awards and cemented the band's status as rock gods. Throughout the years, despite lineup changes, Toto carried on releasing hit new music and performing around the world. In 2008, Steve Lukather, the only original member who still toured, left the group. The band went on hiatus until 2010, when the group, including original members Lukather, Steve Porcaro and David Paich, reunited to do a benefit concert for former bassist Mike Porcaro. Toto continued to tour, releasing their first new album in nearly a decade in 2015. In 2018 they released 40 Trips Around the Sun to celebrate forty years of music, planning an epic Toto tour to commemorate the event.
