A fresh voice in the folk music scene
Growing up in Boulder, Colorado, brothers Oliver and Chris were heavily influenced by their parents' love of music and poetry. However, for fifteen years the brothers pursued music separately. Olive started King Johnson, a band that blended blues, funk, country, and R&B. Chris learned jazz bass and started Medeski Martin & Wood, an iconic band in the contemporary jazz and abstract scene. After playing a show together, Oliver and Chris decided the best way to evolve musically was to collaborate. Joined by multi-instrumentalist Jano Rix, the Wood Brothers released their debut album, Ways Not to Lose, in 2006. The album attracted the attention of NPR and Amazon.com, heralding the success of the newcomers.
Now based in Nashville, the Wood Brothers stand out in the revived Americana scene with their folk blues blend and creative genre manipulation. Cheap Wood Brothers tickets are a hot item as the buzz around this group continues to build. Make sure you pick up your cheap tickets today to catch the Wood Brothers on tour!
