About The Swon Brothers

The Swon Brothers are a musical duo from Oklahoma. The oldest brother, Zach Swon, was born on Feb. 21, 1985, while younger brother Colton Swon was born on Aug. 17, 1988. The boys were raised in the town of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and were involved in helping out with their parents' gospel music band, Exodus. The band toured on the weekends, traveling across the state to various church events, and the duo developed a love of music from a young age: Colton exhibited impressive skills as a vocalist while Zach had a natural affinity for the drums, so much so that he spent much of his late childhood playing in Exodus' rhythm section. The family's musical career shifted gears in the mid-90s, after the brother's parents decided to create a variety show, dubbed "The Westwood Music Show." The endeavor proved to be a huge hit, and cheap tickets to the shows became hot commodities. Colton would often steal the limelight with uncanny impressions of artists such as Michael Jackson and Frank Sinatra, while Zach garnered attention with an impressive Elvis Presley drums tribute.

Setting off on their own
The boys set off on their own in 2000, forming the country music duo we see today. The brothers' signature sound can best be described as an amalgamation of modern rock and classic country. For most of the decade, the brothers' achieved local fame on the country music scene, building a loyal fan base across Oklahoma. They first came to national attention seven years later, after auditioning for the musical reality television series, "American Idol." Although the endeavor proved fruitless, The Swon Brothers' star continued to rise, and in 2009 they released their first album, independent of a mainstream record label, titled "Another Day." Another album followed several years later in 2012, called "Set List." The compilation performed well among indie crowds, but The Swon Brothers still struggled to make it into the musical mainstream. This changed, however, in 2013. The duo managed to secure a position on the fourth season of talent show "The Voice". Unlike their first foray into reality television, their stint on "The Voice" paid off big time: The boys came in third place and secured a record deal with Arista Records.

Awards and accolades
A commercial debut album followed in the fall of 2014, titled "The Swon Brothers." The album featured 11 singles in total and was produced by the revered Mark Bright, who also worked with big-name stars such as Carrie Underwood. The album was a moderate success, with the single "Later On" garnering critical acclaim in country music circles. By late 2014, the duo had secured their first Country Music Association Award nomination for Vocal Duo of the Year. Their self-titled album proved less commercially successful, however, so they broke away from Arista Records in 2015 and set out on their own once again. The band subsequently toured extensively, with dedicated fans clamoring to get cheap tickets to their shows. In January of this year, The Swon Brothers released yet another independent extended playlist, dubbed "Timeless." The brothers are now back on the road, and with a number of exciting projects in the pipeline, it's clear that The Swon Brothers are just at the start of what will likely prove to be a highly successful career.
