About Stryper
By blending heavy metal and Christian rock, Stryper filled a void in the music scene - and listeners were ready for them! As one of the most popular Christian heavy metal bands ever, cheap Stryper tickets can go fast, so make sure you snag yours today before they're gone!
The rise of Christian heavy metal
Hailing from Orange County, Stryper was started by brothers Michael and Robert Sweet and bassist Eric Johnson. They connected emotionally to the music of heavy metal bands but not to the edgy lyrics. Clearly, other music fans felt the same way. When Stryper released their debut album in 1985, it earned gold certification. Stryper concerts during this time were symbols of the glam rock movement, complete with costumes, props, and big hair. Stryper's success went mainstream with their third album, To Hell With the Devil, and singles "Calling on You," "Free," and "Honestly" received significant play on MTV. Stryper disbanded in 1993 with members going on to pursue other projects. In 1999 Stryper began to make limited appearances, but it wasn't until 2003 that the band really got back together. In 2004, with a greatest hits album and supporting tour under their belt, Stryper returned to the recording studio with fresh inspiration.
Now in a new era of Christian heavy metal, Stryper is experiencing renewed popularity. After the band's ten-year hiatus, fans are eager to see these Christian heavy metal stars back in action. Pick up your cheap Stryper tickets today to rock out with these Christian music legends!
