About Simone Biles
Simone Biles is an artistic gymnastics champion from the United States. She is the most decorated gymnast from the United States, with a combined total of 30 World Championship and Olympic medals. She is also one of the most decorated gymnasts of all time. She made a name for herself at the 2016 Summer Olympics, located in Rio de Janeiro. As a member of the “Final Five” from the United States, Simone Biles won individual gold medals in the all-around competition, on the vault, and for her floor routine. In addition, she also won a bronze medal on the balance beam. Finally, she also won a gold medal in the team competition for the United States.
A History of Simone Biles
Simone Biles was born in 1997 in Columbus, OH. The third of four children, Simone Biles was in and out of foster care for a lot of her early childhood. In 2000, Simone Biles moved to Spring Texas, where she was raised by her grandparents. She was adopted by her grandparents in 2003. She started competing in gymnastics at six years old, quickly becoming one of the best junior gymnasts in the country. In 2012, she switched out of public school to home school to focus more on gymnastics. She turned professional in 2015 and qualified for Rio de Janeiro in 2016. After winning multiple gold medals at the Olympics, Simone Biles decided to continue competing in gymnastics, with a plan to compete in Tokyo in 2020.
