Rising Stars of Country
The trio didn't know one another until they met in Nashville to write their debut single, "Lipstick". Naomi Cooke, the lead singer, grew up in Cedar Key, Florida. Hannah Mulhollannd, who sings low harmony and plays mandolin for the group, is from Los Angeles, California. Jennifer Wayne, who sings high harmony, grew up in Southern California. She is the granddaughter of none other than John Wayne. He was among the top box office draws for decades, famously winning an Academy Award for his 1969 film True Grit. Jennifer Wayne was originally a member of a group called Stealing Angels before shifting her focus to Runaway June. With the assistance of Rebecca Lynn Howard, another Stealing Angels member named Caroline Hooby, and Elisha Hoffman, the group released their debut single called "Lipstick" in 2016. They have beenpraised for their originality and astounding vocal harmonies. Later in 2018, Runaway June released their self-titled EP.

This summer, Carrie Underwood will bring Runaway June and Maddie & Tae along with her on her Cry Pretty tour. Don't care for those other artists? Not to worry.
