A blend of tradition and vision
Growing up in Illinois, Margo Price spent her childhood singing and playing the piano. By the time she was twenty, her passion for music motivated her to leave college and relocate to Nashville. At first she worked odd jobs to support herself, eventually founding Buffalo Clover with Jeremy Ivey, who she would later marry. Soon she had taken over the Nashville music scene with her band the Pricetags, catching the attention of Jack White. After listening to her demo, he offered her a spot on his label. Her debut album, Midwest Farmer's Daughter, was recorded in three days and released in 2016. That year she won the Americana Music Honor & Award for Emerging Artist of the Year, and in 2017 she snagged the American Music Prize for Best Debut Album.
