Growing up in London, Lily Allen had a tumultuous childhood. After several schools kicked her out for drinking and smoking, Allen found a new outlet in music. It was five years before she released another solo album, with Sheezus coming out in 2014. After Sheezus, Allen found herself dissatisfied with the direction her music was taking, criticizing outside influences, and committed herself to following her own path for her next album.
